Google I/O 2019

Every year, Google will host a conference for their developers, named Google I/O. At the event, Google will showcase their latest developments and future concepts/visions. This year, the conference will be held on 7 May to 9 May. As usual, Google will be live-streaming the event.

In Google I/O 2019, we can expect to see both software and hardware products announcements. Google would likely to reveal more details about the upcoming Android 10 Q release, including more new features and UI changes. The more budget-oriented Pixel-branded smartphones will probably be at the show too, according to numerous rumors. They will be called Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL, costing around $400 USD to 500 USD. The Nest Hub Max, which combines a Google Home Hub and Nest Camera together, may appear in the event as well.

The keynote for the Google I/O 2019 will be starting at 10 AM (Pacific Time) or 1 PM (Eastern Time). You should be able to watch the live stream at the event’s website, as well as Google’s YouTube and Twitter.

The original RAGE offers some unique combat mechanics and graphics, which is expected to carry over to the sequel, RAGE 2. It is announced to be released worldwide on 14 May. Now, Bethesda, the game’s publisher, has unveiled RAGE 2’s system requirements on PC.

Just like any modern PC games, the RAGE 2 needs to run on 64-bit processor and operating system with at least 50 GB of free storage space. It supports Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

Bethesda recommends using an Intel Core i3-3570 or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X CPU, combined with 8 GB of RAM and NVIDIA GTX 780 or AMD R9 280 graphics card, as the minimum system requirements. For the recommended configuration, the processor is swapped to either an Intel Core i7-4770 and AMD Ryzen 5 1600X. The amount of RAM remains the same, while the graphics card is changing to newer NVIDIA GTX 1070 or AMD Vega 56.

However, Bethesda does not reveal the targeted resolution, graphics settings and frame rate of the recommended system. Our best guess is 1080p on medium to high settings at 60 fps.

Minimum Specifications

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7, 8.1 or 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-3570 or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X
  • Memory: 8GB of RAM
  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 780 3GB or AMD R9 280 3GB

Recommended Specifications

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7, 8.1 or 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-4770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
  • Memory: 8GB of RAM
  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1070 8GB or AMD Vega 56 8GB

Google’s Location History And Activity Data Can Now Be Auto-Deleted

It is no secret that Google keeps a lot of our personal data, which is used to provide useful and important services, like Google Maps and Google Assistant. But there are no easy ways for users to delete their sensitive data, such as location history and voice recordings. Finally, Google announced to roll out new auto-delete feature very soon.

Currently, you can completely disable the tracking from the account settings, as well as delete all or part of your collected information manually. However, this will either make the function not usable, or cause inconvenience. Later, Google will allow user to set a time limit on how long their data to be saved, 3 months or 18 months. After that period of time, the relevant data will be automatically deleted.

The new feature will be available to the public in the coming weeks. The auto-deletion will be limited to Location History and Web & App Activity at first. In my opinion, this is a very important and helpful feature for those who wants more control over their private data, without sacrificing the functionalities of Google-provided services.

The single 4 GB stick at both 2400 MHz and 2600 MHz will cost $27.99 USD (MSRP), while the most common 16 GB dual-channel kit at only $52.99 USD (MSRP).
