This week, GIGABYTE releases the new AORUS Gen4 7000s Prem. NVMe SSD, which is an upgraded version of the AORUS Gen4 7000s. A large heatsink is added to better control the thermals from the drive.

The AORUS Gen4 7000s Prem. is equipped with the latest Phison PS5018-E18 8-channel memory controller and 96-layer 3D TLC NAND flash. With the PCIe 4.0×4 interface, it can reach maximum sequential read/write speeds at 7000 MB/s and 6850 MB/s. Smaller-sized drive will have slower write speed at up to 5500 MB/s. Two capacities (1 TB and 2 TB) are available to choose from. All models are rated to have a MTBF of 1.6 million hours and endurance level of 1400 TBW. They both have a 5-year warranty.

Compared to the normal AORUS Gen4 7000s, a dual-heatpipe heatsink with “Nano-Carbon” coating is installed on the Prem. SSDs to improve its cooling performance. The increased surface area can dissipate heat faster to prevent the drive from thermal throttling.

The AORUS Gen4 7000s Prem. should be available soon in major resellers, but GIGABYTE does not announce the pricing yet.
